JUTE Seeds of the jutel plant are cultivated at the end of the winter season when there is practically no rainfall. The jute plant grows into tall canes up to 12 feet high during its 4 - 5 month growing season. Growth takes place in hot humid climates where the fibers are separated from the wood core of the plant in the field. The colour varies from creamy white to slate gray. A golden brown fiber is selected for spinning into carpet yarn.
