These natural materials are sustainable plant sources that are not destroyed during the manufacturing process. When fashioned into floorcovering products, these fibers have the characteristic of releasing or absorbing air borne water vapors. | COIR Fibers are extracted for the inner husk of the coconut fruit. The abundant coconut palm tree continues to produce the coir fiber for many years. These native trees do not require fertilizer or pesticides. The short fibers are coarse in texture and must be spun into thick yarns. The natural colour is light brown, which can be bleached.
